Microsoft Office and Apple El Capitan problems – interim solution

Lots of chatter on the internet about issues with the latest OSx 10.11 upgrade which has caused Apple El Capitan problems and Microsoft Office hanging and crashing. The Island has also fallen victim to the hastily updating our software only to see the dreaded (newly designed) rainbow spinney more often than a digital marketing agency would like.

While the coders hack away at their respective Apple and Microsoft HQ’s to resolve the issues the following (interim) fix has seemed to sort our Macbooks for the moment, especially when using Outlook 2011.

Switch off Spotlight. Go to System Preferences > Select Spotlight > untick Mail & Messages, Documents, Other, Contacts (and any others you don’t think you need), this seems to have worked for us.

We hope that this resolves any Apple El Capitan problems you may have.
